I am a socialist. Most people don’t understand, or choose not to understand, that there are significant differences between socialism and communism. They also choose not to understand that neither socialism or communism are systems of governance, they are economic systems. The philosophers who wrote the moral underpinnings of socialism and communism 2000 years old. Jesus was the first socialist that quickly comes to mind, but I am sure that there are others out there. The Holy Roller, snake-handling, damn you to Hell for all eternity are all, without exception, either inadvertently ignorant or intentionally ignorant.

I say intentionally ignorant, because they know the truth, they know that Jesus preached a harsh condemnation of capitalism, yet they go to the Apocrypha to seek their justifications. Things that make you go Hmmm! These are clerics who are supposed to be preaching the Words of Christ, not the words of some obscure scribe who came along and put his prejudices down on a scroll and everyone accepted it as “the Inspired Word of God.” Oh yeah? In what universe was that.

At least the gospels were subjected to harsh and sometimes scathing peer review at the Council of Nicaea. Too bad they didn’t include the rantings of Paul to the same scrutiny. He was truly a madman.  The writings of Paul, not Jesus’ words, are where the Holy Rollers get their bullshit “authority” for their crazed insistence of notions that slavery made the slaves happy, that capitalism is the only way that Christ approved of for an economic system, etc. These from a man who never spoke a single syllable to Jesus Christ.

Furthermore, I am a believer is a truly egalitarian society. One where a man’s vote cannot be bought because he is kept in abject poverty. I believe that no one should be allowed to accumulate so much wealth that he/she can dominate/bully the rest of the society into granting them favors that the rest of the community must pay for. I forcefully believe that anyone who becomes so rich that they are able to do these heinous things should be subject to confiscatory taxation! And don’t scream about private property being seized by the state!  I’m not interested. The confiscatory rate will only by applicable until the wealth of the person can no longer be an economic or political threat to the rest of the members of society.

Nor am I interested in your spittle flying rants about how the Founding Fathers wanted a national religion imposed by the new government. I never realized how many of you slept through Civics class. Even a third grader knows just how full of fecal matter you are. And how little you have actually read the Constitution and all the histories surrounding the debates that led to an agreement on the last version of the Constitution. The one thing the Founding Fathers DID NOT want was a Theocracy. That was why they left Europe in the first place.

As you can see, I have very strong opinions on economics and governance. I believe that the US has forsaken more than just a little of its freedoms, whether to conjured wars or religious fanatics. We are headed for serious trouble if we don’t have a correction very soon. And I do mean trouble: riots, civil wars, father fighting son in the military over freedom, the entire horror of  the civil war all over again, only this time with armaments that can really kill effectively. Keep on Barack! You are the prime cheerleader for this oncoming train from Hell!
