Bio

I was born and raised in the Republic of Panama.  My parents moved to the U.S. when I was 16 years old.  I finished high school  in the Charleston, South Carolina area.   I graduated from Baptist College at Charleston (now Charleston Southern University) with a degree in political science and history. I attended law school for a year after graduating from college, but I had learned to fly airplanes while in college and chose to pursue that as my career. After a mid-life career change preciptated by medical issues, I graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in the Spring of 1997 and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar that fall.

Welcome to the Scarlet Pimpernel

I am sure that prior readers have notice the changes in the format of this blog.  I admit to being barely literate in computerese, particularly when it comes to HTML and those kinds of geeky things.  Anyway, the provider’s update to the software kind of caught me off guard and it took me most of the day just to figure out how to log in to the site to make the changes the new styling required.  I know the support staff at the help center think I am the stupidest person ever allowed to sit at a keyboard, but please remember that I am of an age that marveled when our Underwood console, manual typewriters, were replaced with t he marvelous IBM Selectric with that neat little ball that whizzed around as you typed.  It was certainly something that amused a 15 year-old mind and made typing class a little more bearable for the most boring of those required courses in High School.

Anyway, with some fits and starts I am trying to get back in the swing of putting up regular postings, but please forgive the jerks and false starts along the way.
